«Собака – друг человека». Эта фраза настолько прочно вошла в нашу жизнь, что мы даже перестаём задумываться, какой смысл в неё вложен. А ведь не секрет, что многие люди приобретают собаку не как друга, а как охранника, сторожа, кто-то заводит собаку ради моды или престижа. Эта статья рассчитана не на них.

А вот если Вы действительно хотите приобрести преданного и надёжного друга, тогда мы рады познакомить Вас с породой лабрадор ретривер. Это удивительная собака, красивая, достаточно крупная, и при этом обладающая великолепным добродушным характерам. Конечно, есть много добрых и милых собак, и каждая порода хороша по-своему, кто-то мечтает о пуделе, кто-то о пекинесе, но, чтобы понять, какая собака нужна именно тебе, нужно узнать о собаке до момента покупки.

Лабрадор – сегодня очень популярная собака, можно сказать, даже модная. Во многом это связанно с именитыми владельцами собак, ведь лабрадоров держали и держат такие известные люди, как королева Великобритании Елизавета II и принц Чарльз, королева Бельгии и принцесса Монако, Жак Ширак и Тед Тернер, Ванесса Парадиз, Президент России Владимир Путин и самая популярная лабрадор в России Кони и Михаил Ширвиндт. Но если многие люди при решении завести собаку равняются на моду, то для человека, который твердо знает, что он хочет, выбор лабрадора не случаен. Трудно заподозрить людей, достигших успеха в бизнесе, политике, что они покупали лабрадора ради престижа, а не из-за его природных качеств.

Так в чем же секрет лабрадора? Всё просто, эту собаку отличает незаурядный интеллект, обаяние и великолепный характер. Стоит только посмотреть, чтобы увидеть насколько разное применение находит эта порода благодаря своему характеру. И большая благодарность многим преданным своему делу заводчикам прошлого и настоящего, которые помогли сохранить Лабрадору его наиболее ценные качества: послушность и приспосабливаемость.

Так, например, описывает свои впечатления о породе известная во всем мире Мэрион Хопкинсон (питомник ROCHEBY): « Мне всегда казалось, что Нана в книге "Питер Пен" был типичным лабрадором: всегда готовый помочь компаньон, всегда рядом, когда необходимо, и исчезающий, когда ему приказывают. Хотя наверняка найдутся те, кто и не согласится со мной. Постоянная, весёлая готовность – признак этой породы, который и делает её такой адаптируемой к различным аспектам тренировки. Это в большей степени не талант к любой работе, а готовность удовлетворить своего хозяина.

Жизнь с Лабрадором не бывает однообразной. Его одарили великим чувством игры, он может с лёгкостью и в самое короткое время менять роли от "я – само достоинство" до демона-разрушителя, особенно в младенчестве; он – душевный компаньон в тяжёлые для Вас минуты; жадный до такой степени, чтобы не удержаться от воровства чего-нибудь съедобного, но... поскольку у вас есть самый преданный друг и компаньон, и невозможно представить себе, что ваша жизнь без него была бы пуста ».

Другая известная английская заводчица Линда Херон (питомник Brugburn, Англия) подмечает еще одно интересное свойство породы: "Я обожаю и ценю их чувство юмора. И ещё, лабрадор очень умён. И главное во взаимоотношениях лабрадора и хозяина, дать понять вашему питомцу, что вы намного умнее, иначе он сядет Вам на шею.

А американские заводчики Лиза Вайсс и Эмили Бигел так подмечают основные черты характера: "Лабрадор – это одновременно Бенджамин Франклин, Томас Эдисон, Супермен, мадам Кюри и пачка динамита! Каждое из качеств лабрадора – его блестящий ум, изобретательность, сила и двигательные возможности – обязательно найдут выход".

Лабрадор – универсальная собака, если смотреть с точки зрения стандартов породы, и она входит в группу ретриверов, охотничьих подружейных собак. Это означает, что ретривер не загоняет животных на охоте, как борзые и гончие, он спокойно ждет выстрела хозяина и потом приносит добычу к его ногам. Для этого собаке нужна выдержка и спокойствие. Но охота – это историческое применение лабрадоров, конечно, до сих пор многие любители охоты не видят себе лучшего компаньона в лесу, на болоте, чем лабрадор, однако это лишь малая толика того, чем занимается лабрадор в современном мире.

Прежде чем говорить о мире современном, посмотрим немного вглубь веков. Лабрадор всегда помогал человеку в хозяйстве, впервые упоминание в истории об этой собаке связаны с островом Ньюфаундленд. Жизнь местного населения была связана с морем, которое давало им пищу. Рыбаки всегда брали лабрадоров с собой в лодку, и собаки помогали вытаскивать сети из воды, если нужно было, ныряли за ними в холодной океан, на суше же помогали хозяину донести груз до дома. По одной из версий названия породы лабрадоров так назвали португальцы, пораженные их трудолюбием и выносливостью, ведь в переводе с португальского «лабрадор» означает «труженик».

Лабрадор отличается большой выносливостью и устойчивостью к болезням, он не боится морозов, поэтому они чувствуют себя очень комфортно в России, отличающейся суровыми зимами. Он неприхотлив в еде, непритязателен в уходе и содержании, лабрадору не нужно купировать ни хвост, ни уши, они не требуют дорогостоящего ухода за шерстью. Всё это является безусловными плюсами при выборе собаки, но ведь при выборе друга задумываешься в первую очередь не о материальной стороне вопроса, а о его характере.

Цена на лабрадора, породистого и качественного, в Европе определяется только качеством собаки. Подрощенные и титулованные юниоры или молодые собаки от суперклассных производителей стоят на несколько порядков выше и дороже,чем качественный щенок, уровень цен на качественную и титулованную собаку, определенных топовых линий, топового питомника всегда высокая, профессионалы готовы платить цену за качество, поэтому и диапозон цен впечатляет уровнем фантазий, и амбиций заводчика. В России цена качественного лабрадора может колебаться от не высокой за щенка обычного, цена обычно соответствует его качеству, и за щенка высокопородного и качественного, цены в России сопостовимы с ценами ведущих европейских питомников.

Лабрадор великолепно ладит со всеми членами семьи и очень любит детей. Лабрадор достаточно атлетически сложен, и это многих вводит в заблуждение, привыкли, что крупная спортивная собака – это обязательно охранник. Лабрадоры же в массе своей не отличаются агрессивностью, конечно, он встанет на защиту хозяина при угрозе, но по своей природе лабрадор не способен причинять зло людям, он веками воспитывался как помощник и защитник, но не от людей, а от сил природы. Его уникальные способности широко применяются в различных профессиях.

Например, это ведущие спасатели при Чрезвычайных обстоятельствах. Их врождённое желание приносить пользу в сочетании с острым чутьём дают им преимущество при отборе собак для этой работы. Лабрадоры разыскивают пропавших людей на суше и на воде, помогают обнаружить пострадавших под обломками зданий после землетрясений, а чаще – погребённых под снежными лавинами. Еще лабрадоры работают сейсмологами, они выявляют сейсмологические отклонения благодаря своей природной интуиции. И помогают людям на горных, лавинных, водных, сейсмических, спасательных службах.

Лабрадоры – очень умные собаки, они понимают человека с полуслова, и если Вы просто решили завести собаку для себя, то курс послушания и дрессуры стоит пройти для того, чтобы вам было приятно с ним появиться в обществе. А если с ним специально заниматься, тогда он проявляет чудеса интеллекта и может работать практически везде. Это, действительно, универсальная собака.

Лабрадоры работают на таможне, разыскивают наркотики и взрывчатку, в этом им помогает их великолепное природное чутье. Их дыхание устроено таким образом, что позволяет быстро «очистить» обонятельные рецепторы от «старого» запаха для «прислушивания» и аналитической обработки «нового». Один раз поняв, какой запах требуется найти, собака будет искать именно его. Собаку-детектора можно натаскать на любой тип запахов, а если говорить о лабрадоре, то даже и на несколько. 80% собак с профессией поводыря, няньки – это лабрадоры, у них отличная память на маршруты и врожденные предусмотрительность, терпеливость и милосердие.

Лабрадоры с доблестью служат в милиции и работают полицейскими. Их часто можно увидеть в патрульных машинах. Они служат в армии, в специальных подразделениях. Лабрадоров можно встретить на частных пляжах в некоторых странах, где они работают штатными спасателями. Ум и универсальность лабрадоров оценена по достоинству людьми разных профессий. Часто лабрадоров можно встретить в больницах, где они работают терапевтами, и помогают врачам излечивать детишек, страдающих церебральным параличом.

Вообще, лабрадор – одна из самых надежных собак, умный и преданный компаньон. Собака этой породы в экстремальных ситуациях способна самостоятельно принимать решения. В семье - это просто коммуникабельный пес, который не замыкается на одном человеке и любит всех окружающих. Он быстро изучает привычки людей и прочно входит в их жизнь. Также лабрадор прекрасно уживается и с другими животными. То, что лабрадор очень любит детей, мы уже говорили, а те отвечают ему взаимностью. Ведь помимо всего прочего лабрадор отличается большим терпением и великодушно, позволяет маленьким детям таскать себя за хвост… Лабрадор очень любит играть, и гулять, при этом он прекрасно чувствует физическое состояние человека, и если с детьми он – весёлый непоседа, то с пожилыми людьми – серьёзный спутник. На прогулках он всегда внимательно наблюдает, чтобы у его друзей не случилось неприятностей. И мало кто осмелится их причинить: внешность у лабрадора внушительная. Значение дружбы этой собаки трудно переоценить. Если бы не было лабрадоров, их следовало бы придумать!

Кто-то сказал, что лабрадоры – это ангелы на Земле, и он был прав! Возможно, они нам нужны больше... Мы живем в трудном мире, где сложно быть собой, и вот нам дан свыше лабрадор!
